More than 120 homes lost

In the Granbury portion of Hood county alone, vast sections of neighborhoods were destroyed, and neighbors lost one another.  Six fatalities and vast devastation in huge portions of suburban areas were terrible news.  Watching through the windows, or on the news, helplessly, at the tiny little town we’ve come to love as our Southern little sister.

In a tiny lake town gearing up for what should (and still will) be it’s nicest time of year, May is generally the first peep of antiqueers.  Heavy tourism draws annually to the historic square, complete with old Opera house, an authentic old 1950′s drive-in movie theatre, and of course, that gorgeous lake. July is when Granbury hits it’s stride around here, with temperatures crawling up so high that watermelon and lake water is your only relief.

None of that competes with what we love best about Granbury.  It’s the smiles.  The Andrew’s, the Amanda’s, the Stephen’s, the Allison’s, the Cassidy’s, the Lydia’s, the Misty’s, the Cody’s, the Oscar’s and the Sarah’s. Our Beautiful Granbury

When another storm hit our Northern neighbors, we knew we had to hold out our hands to everyone.  We threw a grand giveback night where ALL profits would go to the relief of those affected by the tornado areas in Oklahoma, and, of course, Granbury.

WE RAISED $2,000 in one night!

$1500 of the funds will be donated to the United way of Granbury and Hood County, and and additional $500 will be donated to the Red Cross of Oklahoma.

There’s still more we can all do.  Ask your neighbors how they’re coming along.  All of us in Ft.Worth, or Dallas; plan a trip to Granbury this summer.  And if you usually come once, go twice and stay overnight.  While you’re here, stop in and and one of our smiles how they’re doing.  If you live NOWHERE near a tornado area, discuss with your family now what you would do then.  How about if a fire happened?  Get to know your neighbors.  They may save you someday.
